Need to find a program

Jun 19, 2008 7:00AM PDT

I work at a hvac company. I work in the office, with scheduling service calls. We schedule our calls in a book write them in and the service man gets a ticket, but it can get a mess. I am looking for a program or way to make a day to day calender that i can but people in hour by hour, and have four columns. Please help me on this

Let your boss decide.

His options are:
1. accept that things are messed up sometimes
2. spend some money for a ready-made application
3. hire a programmer to make exactly what he wants
4. let you spend a few days or weeks (paid, of course, not in your free time) to make something in Word or Excel or Access or Visual Basic or Outlook

Our suggestion is #2. A company needs the right software to function optimally.

Compare it with bookkeeping (unlikely your boss still does it on paper, because he finds a bookkeeping program too expensive) or writing letters (unlikely he still uses a fountain-pen, because he finds a printer too expensive).
Exactly the same goes for other business tasks like scheduling his service personnel.
