Here's a video about it.

If it's not that, you MUST set the video properties to what the TV supports. This is a little all over the map.

Hi!
I have a Toshiba Satellite L645D running windows vista and my screen has been sporadically going dark/black (if you shine a bright light on it you cant still see the computer is running). SO I bought a Samsung LN37a550p thinking I would be able to run the computer on the TV & have a TV to use...
But I've run into another problem; when using VGA while the computer recognizes the TV, when I switch the TV to VGA input, it does not recognize the laptop. The TV is black, and then it seems to go into hibernation mode.
I have tried holding Fn+F5 and the external monitor is displayed on my laptop, I also tried extending the screen as well as mirroring, there seems to be no response from the TV.
Eventually I tried unplugging and re-plugging in the VGA cord while the TV was on PC mode- when I plugged it back in and hit Fn+F5, my desktop briefly appeared on the TV, washed out and stretched- but it was there!
Now, I'm at a loss. This laptop doesnt have a HDMI port, and I had the previous owner show me the TV while connected to a computer via VGA to make sure the TV was fully operational... I don't know what to try next, and I really don't want to sink more money into this- the VGA cord is brand new from best buy...
Please help!
Thanks!
