Need Thorough Scan

I have Windows XP on a 80GB HD within Toshiba Satellite A105-S4002. My cable provider provided McAfee Security Suite. My speed is unusually slow. In the past I was able to run Housecall and Ewido. Ewido is now part a a larger package for purchase, but I was able to update and run version 4.0, which found a Trojan. Housecall is also part of Trend Micro Suite for purchase. MS One Step requires one to uninstall McAfee and Adaware, which I am not willing to do. I can use the trial Trend Micro Security Suite, which would require me to uninstall McAfee, which I can always reinstall as it is free. The only other extensive scan program out there I know of is hijack this. Besides Adaware, I have Spybot and Spyware Blaster. What other open source scanning tool is out there?

Wasn't there an issue with Spybot and Mcafee?

Trend Micro identifies Tea Timer, but does not say if it is good or bad under hijack this.

There ARE possible issues or CONFLICTS with TeaTimer and said product. Fix? Remove one, the other or both (your choice.)

Need Thorough Scan

I bit the bullet yesterday, uninstalling McAfee, Spybot and Spyware Blaster. Then I installed Ewido, which found a Trojan even though I could not update to present version. Then I installed a trial version of the Trend Micro Suite. That found a few other things. Neither ran as long as McAfee does, but they slow down the computer. Now, I cannot get McAfee reinstalled. Their tech support worked on it the past two days. If not resolved, I will look for something open source.
