Need some help-Audio problem is driving me up the wall

by Linkmaster94 / August 28, 2009 5:03 AM PDT

So, here's my problem: I built an HTPC a while ago (Running Windows 7 RC), hooked it up to our TV with HDMI, tested it as much as I could, and everything seemed to be working fine. Earlier this week though, I wanted to watch a movie. Having some spare Logitech Z5300's at hand, I decided to plug those in and get the full audio experience (using my mobo's onboard HD audio).

No sound.

Essentially, it's like I haven't even plugged them in. I can get audio through the tv speakers fine and dandy, but I simply cannot figure out why my speakers won't play anything. I've messed around with Bios settings, tried drivers, and nothing to show for it. When I click on "playback devices", all I see is Digital Output Device (HDMI), no speakers to click on or anything.

I am about to give up here, so any and all help is appreciated!
