Need some help

Mar 30, 2006 11:34PM PST

I am looking for decent software that will produce a nice slideshow movie with my photos that I can burn to vcd or dvd format. I would like to be able to use MP3's to have music accompany the slideshow. The software should output to a video format in order to do this. I have done this in the past with windows Move Maker (I have a PC), but would like something a little more automated.

Anybody use, or have seen software that will do this? Something free, or less than 30 bucks would be ideal. I want to be able to play these slideshow movies on my dvd player.

Also, does the iLife suite have anything that does something like this. The reason being is that I'm looking into buying a Mac soon so maybe that might be an alternative?

Every new Mac comes with iLife. You will be able to sort your photos, create a slideshow and add music from your iTunes library all in iPhoto, then click one button to export it to iDVD and burn it!

Very easy and done in a few minutes. Very Cool, and it'll impress your friends.

Enjoy you new Mac!

Try using slideshow ouput to video in Google without quotes. Lots of different programs came up. What do you mean more automated? Question is vague.

Feeling Adventurous?

If you feel like taking a little trip over to Linux, then I can tell you about Cinnerela, Kino and Diva. From what I can tell they appear to be really good applications from watching the videos and looking at screenshots. THE ONLY THING IS, I have yet to try them out because I don't have a camera capable of recording into DV files.

BUT, if you are going to get a Mac, I would definitely just use what is provided by the Mac OS & applications that come bundled.
