Three of the cameras are point-and-shoot.
The Sony V1 is an intermediate camera with manual over-ride controls. If you want to get more involved with photography, the V1 would be the right choice.

hey, i'm in a little dilema...i'm needing some help picking between the casio exilim ex-z40, the pentax optio s4i, sony dsc-v1 and the dsx-w1. i guess i'm maybe looking for something with great picture quality and something portable. let me know. thanks.
