Question

Need some advice!!! Computer requires shutdown to restart

Installed windows 7 on and hp dc7800p, and now the computer will not load after a restart....works just fine with the shutdown mode..restarts with no problem....was running xp and never had this issue...Imagine it is the smps or something......any thoughts?...thanks..

There are so many drivers and apps after an OS install

That you must check with HP for what drivers in what order must be installed. On some PCs you won't see Windows 7 drivers (I didn't check your model) so you may get stuck with the factory OS.

Do a startup repair.
Did you change any hardware in the system after the initial Win7 install ?

startup failed, no new hardware...have original drivers disk.........not an isssue with xp or 10, only 7...do a restart and nothing....if I do a shutdown, no problem...investigating power supply issues....thanks.

Ok Tell me when u restart ur computer, ur motherboard beep or not,,,or not start yet after restart your computer
if it is start for some time and then off... then this is also problem with your RAM
