Question

Need recommendations for ftp software

Jul 25, 2014 1:51AM PDT

I am in the process of re-doing my website and need to upload to the host server. They recommended Filezilla. I downloaded it last night from the original website, and it also downloaded an additional bit of software that took over my search function, and came up as my Firefox startup window, all without my authorization. There was nowhere on the download screen to check/uncheck unwanted options. I was unable to eliminate this POC without doing a restore point on my computer to the previous day to get rid of it (hopefully). At least my computer is working normally now.

My question (finally) is, what other ftp software can I use to upload my website to the server?

Where did you get FileZilla from?

SourceForge Installer

Yes, that's the one I originally used, as that's the page that filezilla-project.org directs you to. I did find this forum AFTER I had a problem with the download, and realized I'm not the only one that is disgusted with how this is presented. I saw the statement under the download button regarding the "bundled offers", but I have never downloaded something that didn't give me an option to include these offers at the time of install.

Now we know. FileZilla is fine. There are others but for FTP this is fine.
