Need Processor Recommendation

by jmhal / August 11, 2005 1:38 PM PDT

I am planning to by a HP laptop for college and am not sure what processor to get. I can't choose between the Intel Pentium M 750, the AMD Athlon 64 3500, or the AMD Turion 64 ML-34. I'm going too use it for the internet(streming music and video), music, muvies and some games. I would like something that can handle applications that are on the larger side and can multitask fairly well while using minimal battery and doesn't run too hot.
Any suggestions?

Id hold off on the turion till ya see what somone says to my post below yours. I got an hp with that processor. Maybe just my bad luck saying its running @ 793 MHz so I dunno check back with my fourm when someone replies because if it ran a bit quicker I would love this thing.

Based on price, the turion is better deal than Pentium M. 3500+ is too low battery life, heavy, etc... Multitask, as in winamp, interet explorer, etc.. right. Not doom 3, bf2, autocad, etc at the same time right. Turion should be alright. HP/COmpaq M2000z or L2000

what about performance

In reply to: RE:

I am willing to dish out some extra money for better performance, so between the Turion 64 ml-34 and the pentium M 750 which has better performance and battery life? Also is it better to go with 64 bit turion rather than the 32 bit pentium m?

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
