General discussion

need photo viewing software

Mar 4, 2010 8:27AM PST

Since I got a new computer using Windows 7, my Microsoft Photo Editor which is a 32 bit program won't work on my 64 bit computer. I need a photo viewing program that will allow me to tile a couple of photos to view more than one at a time. Is there such a program available to replace the old Microsoft Photo Editor, which always did a good job.

Irfanview?

I can't see where it says it supports 64 bit Windows 7, but I'm positive it does. Most 32 bit applications will run on a 64 bit Windows. Microsoft's Photo Editor may be different in that it is supplied with Microsoft Office, and if you have an old Office suite, eg Office 97, that may be why it doesn't work with Windows 7.

Apparently Office 2007 does not have a photo editor component.

It's worth a try, and if it doesn't work to your satisfaction you can always uninstall it and start your search again.

Good luck.

The best I say is Picasa.

Google Picasa is a software download from Google that helps you organize, edit, and share your photos. It's free, and easy to use.

I agree picasa is probably the best FREE program out there. Add the fact that you can share your photos and it meets all of my needs.

Hi,

As an alternative for iphoto and photoshop I use faststone image viewer. Its is the fastest, efficient little program I have ever owened, and it can do so much, so simple. I highly recommend it as it is free, and very small to download,

you can also download faststone image capture,

Fast stone MaxView (to view every file)

and fast Stone image resizer,

Choose wisely,

Thanks
