Question

Need Permanent Screen Flashing Fix

Jul 14, 2016 12:26PM PDT

I have a multi-display set up at work. One of my monitors continues flashing every few seconds. The system isn't locking up like others have had issues with. IT desk at work has disabled the two msconfig start-up items that were causing the problem and it fixed the issue, but now the screen is flashing again. I have had to continually update then rollback the display drivers in order to correct the issue. Every time my computer sleeps I return to the same monitor flickering again and again.

Please help me find a permanent solution!!

Thanks!

IT did not note this but I would assume because each time they were just doing the same fix. I'll be sure to reference this response. Thank you for your help.

Isn't the best place for all drivers. For me, it's my last resort when I can't find a driver.

Answer
Problem By Display Driver

Remove the Display driver

First go to Device Manager and click the arrow next to Display drivers to expand the category. Right-click your graghics card, click Uninstall, check Delete the driver for this device and than click Ok Restart your System.

Install a New Driver

You now want to install the latest driver for your system. Both AMD and NVIDIA have automatic Detection programs,if you're not sure what you need.Download the driver, open and install, and than see if the problem ceased.
