Need opinions on a surround sound receiver

Jan 6, 2005 4:31AM PST

Hey guys -
I just purchased a Panasonic 42PWDU7 for use in my home theater set up. I am currently only wired for 5.1 and I have JBL HTI 6 1/2" (rear) and 8" (front) in-wall stages. Also a 12" JBL sub and EC35 center channel. I will be using this set-up primarily with Comcast digital cable and the play audio CD's. I am currently in the market for a receiver (+dvd changer - but we will get to that later). My budget is $400 or less so I do not expect to get the top of the line at that pricepoint but I would like a solid unit capable of producing good sound for both DVD's and music CD's. I am currently considering the HK line and Onkyo. Any suggestions/help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
