windows 7, google browser. Whenever I do a search, ads for the item come up before the actual official website. Any way to stop that?

The ads at the top of a search result are a part of Google's search algorithm and also a part of how Google keeps itself in business. They helpfully have "Ad" next to them, though, so the methods available to you are either to ignore the first couple of results or to use an alternative search engine.
