need new/different AV software than Norton

by TJRatfink / March 10, 2008 12:59 PM PDT

I've had fairly good luck to date with Norton AV (touch wood), but more than likely there's something better out there which is the thrust behind this post. I need an AV, anti-spyware, firewall in one like the Norton. What do you gurus recommend for an OS of WinXP SP2? Thanks!

AVG Free Edition has been working fairly well for 2 years
by Mike_bs / March 10, 2008 1:22 PM PDT

Have had to download and repair install recently, but overall it runs well and updates automatically, but the scan runs too often [in the free edition]. Here is a link: <http://free.grisoft.com/doc/help/us/>. They also have an Anti Spybot version and you can buy the full version if you like.
Good luck, Mike_bs, running Dell with Windows XP Pro version 5.1 SP2

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
