Need Laptop for COD4

by aimxhead / September 1, 2008 11:00 AM PDT

Can you guys tell me if this laptop will be able to handle COD 4?

If you know any other laptops in this price range that is 900US$ to 1000US$. I just need a laptop for basic purposes but which can run cod 4 and some latest games on minimum/medium.

To be more clear,

Budget: 900US$-1000US$
Screen: 15" Atleast
Brands: Any
Mobility: Well should be normal as in i dont really need extra lasting battery.
Durability: Obviously should be durable.
Multi-tasking: Not really, just need it for basic purposes like email, word processing, photoshop.
Gaming: Yes, it should be able to handle cod4 and some newer games.
Calculations: No not really.
Storage: 120gb -160gb atleast for movies, games, songs.
Optical: Yeah, should have a dvd/cd burner.
OS: XP and Vista
Location: Pakistan
Additional features: The laptop that i have linked says that it has an hdmi port. Does this mean i can connect my ps3 to it and play my ps3 on the laptop or do i have to get a vga box like xcm 1080p, or is it that i cant even hook my ps3 to it :X?

Looking forward to some replies.

The link didn't work. But so far to play games you want to find 2 to 4GB RAM, dual core cpus and the outer fringes of the 3D video chipsets. Your link didn't work.

I have chosen 2 laptops but i need a little more help. I need to know whether i should go with hp dv6850ee or dell studio 1535. The main difference between both of these laptops is the graphics card. The HP one has got NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS (256 MB) and the DELL one has got ATI Mobility RADEON HD 3450 (256 MB). Which gpu is better and which one should i go for?

Both of them are equipped with the same processor i.e T5750 Core 2 Duo 2.0Ghz with 3GB Ram but the HP one has 160GB Harddisk whereas the DELL one has 250GB. The only doubt in my mind is about the gpu.

Looking forward to some replies!

For now the 8400 is an "avoid." Don't be a hero and buy this and hope for the best.

hey guys i couldnt find a dell studio 1535 with ati radeon 3450 but i found this hp dv5-1030ee with ati radeon 3450. Can u guys check the specs and temme if it is any good or better than dv 6850ee. I wont be gettin dell studio cuz the one that is available in my country has got intel gpu so the option is between dv6850ee and dv5-1030ee though i personally think dv5-1030ee is better except it has 1 gb less ram. I dono abt the processor so i basically wanna know abt that.
