Need iTouch help!

So I saved all my mp3s on a dvd in case s*%$ happened & of course, it did. Lost my mp3 player. Recently got an iTouch & transferred the mp3s to the iTouch. BUT- the sound thru headphones is *lousy*.

It sounds ok in one channel but in the other, it has this quiet, 'underwatery', warbly sound. What. Happened??
I can't tell if it's a headphone/ headphone jack issue or what.
