Need home audio advice

Sep 21, 2008 1:44PM PDT

Looking for some advice on a system that I'm about to purchase. I want to spend somewhere around the $10-$13k range on equipment. I would say that it would be used 40% for Apple TV, CD's etc, 55% just general TV and MAYBE 5% of the time watching movies. I have settled on some products but am clueless on others. And I'm more of a Hip Hop kind of listener so it would be more important to me that the sub be tight and more for music than for movies. Another thing is that I prefer all the speakers to be flush ceiling mount, sub excluded due to the fact that I live in a older remodeled house with 8ft ceilings. And I'm going to have everything hidden in a dedicated closet so im assuming I'm going to need some sort of IR device? Thanks and I'd appreciate your advice.

Diagram is pretty proprtionate to the actual room sizes. About 900sq ft total (K-250, D-350, L-200)

The TV will be centered on the wall in the living room by the L in LIVING 5.1

AUDIO CLOSET

Receiver - Denon AVR-3808CI
Blueray - Samsung BD-P1500
Apple TV
Power conditioner - not sure what kind

LIVING ROOM

TV - SAMSUNG LN52A750 LCD TV
Front & rear & center speakers - Speakercraft AIM8 Three (5)
Sub - Speakercraft, Velodyne, etc I'm open. Don't really know what subs work best with Hip hop, top 40 etc. Just looking for tight bass.

DINING ROOM/KITCHEN

Speakercraft AIM8 Three (4)

BACKYARD/POOL

Speakercraft OE8 three (2)

A few other questions I have:

1. Is the receiver powerful enought to run all speakers at once or would I need an additional amp. Don't want any clipping at medium+ volume.

2. And is there and Iphone app that anyone knows of that I could use my Iphone as a universal remote.

3. Should I opt for the Denon 4308Ci for the Wifi if I want to use my iphone as the remote?

4. I see a big price difference between the HDMI cables. Is there really a difference.

Thanks in advance and I appreciate all your feedback.
