...and the device name, you should be able to visit the actual wireless device manufacturer's website and download the Windows 7 driver, IF they have one.. It IS possible there is no such Windows 7 driver available for the device.. In such cases, we work around the problem by purchasing a Windows 7 compatible USB wireless adapter for the laptop, disable the old device from Device manager, then install and enable the new wireless adapter to connect with.
Hope this helps.

I have a Compaq F761US laptop that had Windows Vista installed on it. My hard drive went bad and I had to replace it. Since the one I installed was not from HP I could not use the restore disc to re install the OS,so I bought the Windows 7 OS. It worked fine for awhile then I could not connect to the internet wirelessly. After trouble shooting with my internet provider it was determined that my network driver was bad. Hp keeps giving me the drivers I had that worked with Vista but will not work with Windows 7 and they have not updated the drivers for my computer and new OS. Is there a way to install a new driver that will work wirelessly or am stuck using the ethernet cable until HP updates the drivers?
