And I used this WLAN adapter to replace this one. And as I mentioned before, I have NO ETHERNET PORTS IN THIS DORM, so if anyone tells me to go wired, I will send Lady Gaga to grope you in your sleep
Alright, so here's the problem. Over the summer, I built a gaming rig for about $1k to use in college. I recently moved back into my university dorm, however, and the problem is that there are NO ETHERNET PORTS in this dorm.
As a result, I ordered myself a simple $8 wireless adapter. Upon finding out that I would get about 1-2 bars of signal (If even), I ordered myself this WLAN adapter.
Connection jumped up to 4 bars, and I ran a speedtest ant noticed good results. About 30mbps down, 20-25mbps up.
However, I recently reinstalled Windows (I was able to acquire a genuine version from my university to replace the pirated version I previously had), reinstalled the drivers, etc... Problem now, is that I'm getting about 0.8mbps upload (Top) while getting about 20-25mbps download.
What would cause this sudden drop? It can't be the network, as every other device around me gets the same ~25mbps down/up speeds (Roommate's computers, my laptops, etc). Would it be the WLAN adapter? How can I fix this, as I miss my multiplayer games?
