Need Help With Sound

by stacymihalek / September 21, 2008 4:43 AM PDT

I have an Acer Extensa 4420. About 3 weeks ago I had to replace my Hard drive which is the same hard drive I had in their before I replaced it. Sense then, my headphone jack has not worked. I am running Realtek High Definition Audio ALC268. I have updated all my drivers. Including ATI, everything! I am just stomped and getting very frustrating with this problem. Any suggestions would be VERY appreciated. Thank You!

I am a little confused as to what LiveCD list is. I have read many forums I have found on Google about this issue. Nobody seems to resolve the problem. They can find back ways around it but I truly think they don't know what they are talking about.

The link I gave you was so you could find current LiveCDs that you can make and boot up Linux from a CD. I use these as a test of the machine's hardware. If I can't get sound from a few of the most popular LiveCDs then I know it could be a hardware issue such as unplugged cables or dead audio components.

This saves me from tinkering for hours with the Windows OS.
