Need help with Roxio when adding audio to a homemade video

Dec 2, 2006 3:10AM PST

I am trying to make a DVD video with audio added to it. I am using Roxio DVD Builder 6. When I load up the video and the audio, it shows the audio symbol in the window that contains the video. When I preview the project, it works fine, but when I burn it to disc, the audio is not there. I am using Windows Media Center Edition 2005. Any suggestions PLEASE? Thanks for your time, Bill

What format is that audio in? Let's hope it's not WMA.

I think I've read you need to stick to simple formats like 192kbps MP3 or WAV files.

Changed to MP3

Hi Bob, I changed the audio to an MP3 file and burned the disc again, still no audio on the finished disc. I can't quite understand this since the audio works fine in the preview before I burn it but it just doesn't work on the finished disc. Any more suggestions Please? Bill

Wild guess. 5.1 system on playback?

Roxio DVD builder does not support AC3 audio streams. Are you sure that the RCA outputs aren't working? Maybe try changing the sound setting from Advanced to Stereo.

ROXIO..6

I will usually create my Movie-Audio FILE in Microsoft Movie Maker 2/then SAVE to MY DOCUMENTS[MY VIDEO]createing a DV-avi FILE from MSMM2..keeping it under 10-GB's..more like 8.9 GB's..
ROXIO creates Digtial STEREO[LPCM]from your DV-avi FILE which only accepts WMA or MP3..I have even mixed the two with good results..sometimes NOT..
..
I'm stumped by your lost audio track..
..
Use Microsoft Movie Maker 2..and MP3..Save in DV-avi..and let ROXIO BURN in DVD-builder to MPEG-2..
ROXIO works best in 50-minute Movie Times.
