Need Help With New MP3 Message Board Activation!

Dec 8, 2003 10:36AM PST

I hope this works.

On December 2, I registered on the new CNET MP3 message board. I am registered user #28, user name DinoRomanelli. I have received no email activation, nor have I received any email at all regarding any of my requests to be activated.

I am one of many who are having this problem. Can you help, or can you get me to someone who can?

Thank you~
Dino Romanelli

Hi, Dino.

I've forwarded your message to Lee Koo, but I don't think the new MP-3 operation is quite ready for prime time yet. Once it is, you won't have to be specifically activated for that board, any more than you are for any other particular CNet message board. Hope this helps!

Thanks for your help, Dave!

That board is very much up & running, taking off very quickly. It will not allow me (or several others I know) to log in without activations. Some have had problems with Yahoo accounts...mine is CompuServe.

I hope to hear from Lee. And again...thanks for your quick response!

Hi, Dino.

Just so I'm clear in my own mind, are you speaking of CNet's "MP-3 and Digital Music" message board, or the new download service that replace MP3.com? The first shouldn't have a separate activation required, while the latter decidedly would.

The board I am referring to is the new MP3.com forum. I actually know Larree...what a small world! As far as I know (and I could just be an idiot), I don't have a SPAM folder. I've tried registering twice, and have had no luck. There appear to be no moderators or administartors anywhere there to help.

All I need is an activation code emailed to me. Suggestions?

Dino

It gives me the same message, that my user name is inactive.

Hmmmm.....

A member named Larree has mentioned that it could be because of some people who have AOL, Yahoo, and Hotmail. Dave Konkle mentioned that he sent a email to Lee Koo on your behalf.

You can also post to Lee at his Feedback forum:

If you do, probably ought to make reference to the URL in these SE discussions or someone may waltz through the same stuff we did.
