I called Parker Vision and they told me the product was indeed only transmitting speeds at 11Mbps. It is 802.11b/g "compatible" which does not mean it transmits at 54Mbps. So, I guess I was told the wrong information by the store clerk. I spent $150 dollars on the router, thinking it was the latest technology. Lesson learned. Never listen to store clerks or self appointed "gurus". Do your homework!
I got a brand new desktop, a brand new wireless router by ParkerVision WR1500 which is supposed to have a repeater and also have the speed of 54mbps. I have the router in my daughters room and my PC has a Belkin wireless G Network USB adapter at 54mbps. However I am only getting speed of 11mbps at all times with low, very low and no connection. I never get good or better connection. When I had my earlier product of strictly 802.11b router and adapter which was about 5 year old (and cheap), sometimes I got "good" connection. My so called "guru" told me to switch to ParkerVision and since then my connection has been worse than ever. Now he won't even return my calls.
Can someone help me why is this happening and what to do? Do I need to do any configurations? My old wireless system had cost me only $30 as opposed to having spent $200 for this supposedly better system.
