Question

Need help with my computer problems

May 7, 2015 8:43AM PDT

Hello, i have a PC and it has a lot of issues. I just want to make this post so that maybe someone knows a solution.

I get a lot of blue screen crashes.

I have a weird problem that my PC randomly starts stuttering and my internet doesn't work anymore, to stop this i have to manually disconnect my WiFi connection.
( This started to occur after i reset my OS )

My monitor sometimes goes black and says no signal, i have to restart to make it work again and sometimes when i start my PC i have no signal as well so i have to restart.

Sometimes when i alt-tab during a game my PC gets really slow and then freeze for a few minutes and then it is normal again.

This pretty much sums it up. These problems are getting really annoying and i hope i can get some responses.

OK, let's say it's new. Back to the store for fix, exchange or refund so you can try again.

You did a reload of the OS I assume by your post. Now, let's also suppose you did the full reload not only of the OS, but also any OS updates and security updates, all of it. Then verify your drivers are also up to date as well. In other words you need to do all of this unless this was some backup from the day before. regardless, you need to verify your PC is fully ready. Then load your games or s/w and install any patches or updates as well before you go back as if nothing happened. You can't take anything for granted, because you reloaded the OS or the full system, it has totally done before you go to actual use again.

the "no signal" is actually nothing wrong with the monitor, it just isn't getting the signal from the PC. The PC has some issue or fault that has to be corrected. What that is still open to answer. Now, if you had your system for while and then you got some issues and then you proceeded to reload the OS, that may not really fix it. There's some real fault or issue that has faltered somewhere, until you find it it repeat again and again. I suppose since you're a gamer that probably the video side is failing or unstable and just getting ready to totally fail. i can suggest, verify you have good cooling and/or clean out the PS innards. You gave no clue what PC you have, details matter so give. If this is laptop, wooo it maybe too late though you can still try to blowut any dust or clogs. The same applies to a desktop, but more directly. Id desktop, open case side and see if that helps maybe fan blowing in.

sounds like "bad caps" which causes seemingly unrelated problems due to the odd electrical currents and ripple effects.

google "bad caps".

Wear & tear

Heck, a 7-yr. old PC will show its age and yours maybe just doing that. On top of a possible "bad caps" as posted to you, your PSU/power supply maybe getting on. However, I would swap out the GPU and PSU(better wattage) now maybe a good time as any in that dept.. The PSU has to support it as well the GPU. As I stated in earlier post, since you're a gamer, you may have reached an impasse, you done wore it out. Poor cooling will degrade and/or prolonged play stresses the PC out, again wear&tear. Something is teetering and usually that's video is an area i look at for now. Again at 7-yrs. well got your money's worth it had to have a problem sooner or later. I would test the ram as well, use memtest86 or similar. Your OS has a basic ram tester as well. Check it out.
