You can't copy a commercial DVD.
What DVD player software do you have?
I was using nero smart start to copy a DVD. I licked on one option that worked fine but took time. Then I saw an option that simple said Copy DVDs. I put a dvd in my cd/dvd reader and a blank dvd in my dvd burner. when i clicked start the bars that said it was encoding began. I licked the option. I clicked on the option thatr was avablible in the new window and it suddnly began with out any options or question. with every other nero option I would get a wizard.I didn't know what it was copying or what so I tried to stop. There was no optino to stop so I used Ctrl, Alt, delete and end task. It said it was not respoding and the end task window came up. I used it so stop the program. When I went to take the diskc out they would not come out. I licked eject in My Computer but that did not work eather. Becosue of this i used the special pin to eject the drives from the outside. I took both out. I wanted to see if everything was working so I put various CDs and DVDs in it. I was able to play adio CDs, and explore files on both DVDs and CDs but I was not able to play DVDs with any of my media player. With windows media center it said there was a problem with encoding but I am not sure what that means. I dont know if it is a hardware problem or a software problem, or what it is. I tired to restart my computer and system restore but neither worked. Does any one know what the problem is? Did I damage the drives and have to replace them or is it something I can dowlad to fix it. If any one knows please tell.
I am using a Dell E510 with windows XP Media Center SP2. The CD/DVD reader shipped in the cmoputer from the dell. The Sony DVD burner was installed later my me and I have had no problmes with it till now.
