Need help with Microsoft Works with WIN XP

Jun 11, 2007 8:41AM PDT

I feel bad asking this question but after attempting to find the information myself with no luck I decided to post my question here. For years I have had and still have an old PC with WIN 95 that I have done quite a lot of word processing on but today I'm attempting to do the same on a newer Dell desktop PC with WIN XP.

All I want to do is create an invoice or a billing statement on this computer using the newer version of Works but I can't seem to figure out how to locate samples of invoices or statements in the software on this newer Dell computer.

I have found out how to compose and print out a letter; an envelope; but haven't been able to find sample templates for billing; invoices; statements; etc. If I can't figure it out I'll go do it on my old WIN 95 PC where I know that I can. Certainly Works on WIN XP has the same capabilities doesn't it? Advise anyone when you can.

Checking under Control Panel; add or remove programs it lists the software simply as Microsoft Works; nothing else. When I clicked on a link listing technical support it said Microsoft Works 8.0, version 08.04.0623.

I don't know if it came free from Dell on this new PC or if it was configured that way. I have Microsoft Works Suite on my WIN 95 PC and if the version on this new Dell is simply called Microsoft Works 8.0 it probably was free from Dell. I've used the software only once; composed and printed a letter several months ago and that's it.

I still do most of my word processing on the WIN 95 PC but the templates for invoices and statements on my old PC are very dated; I was hoping to create something on this Dell PC more up to date if I can only figure out how to do so. Thank you for your post.
