Need help with Microsoft Word please.

Hey, Im using Windows Vista on a Acer Aspire 5610Z Laptop and this has only started happening a few weeks ago. If i want to open up a document in Microsoft Word 2003 i have to open word then click open and find the document becuase if i click the document then it wont open, ive tried clicking browse and finding word but its saying that word is a file and not a program so i wont open.

Have You Installed Office 2003 Service Pack 3 Yet?

Ive tried re-installing office but that didnt fix it, ill try installing the service pack 3, thanks for your help guys.

..then try the universal "Word" fix:

Do a search on the computer for a file named: (yep, that's "normal dot dot"). RENAME of the "" files that appear in the search window to "normal.old", then restart the computer.. When you re-open Microsoft Word, a "clean" version of the "" file should be recreated.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
