Need help with Memory Upgrade, please!

Jul 29, 2007 11:10AM PDT

Hello!

I have an HP Pavilion 515n computer. It says I need 184-pin PC2100 DDR-266 DIMM Memory. I am trying to upgrade from two 256 MB memory modules to two 512 MB modules (my computer will only allow up to 1 GB), but the cost is prohibitive. I have a chance to buy two 512 MB KINGSTON KVR 400MHZ DDR NO-ECC (KVR400X64C3) fairly cheaply. Will these work in my system even though my system will not give me the complete power that these modules provide?

Thanks in advance, and have a really great and blessed day!

Love TG

I forgot to mention...

Sorry, I forgot to mention -- these new memory modules (second-hand) that I'm thinking of buying are PC3200, as opposed to what my computer says I need (PC2100) -- will they still work?

Thanks, and have a really great and blessed day!
