In IE, click Tools, Internet Options, and click the Connections tab. Put a check mark in "Never Dial a Connection". Reboot. And it should be, Voila!
Now, with two working computers you can get a router and build your own home network.

I have an old computer that I used to use. I had Broadband to go to the Internet. I let my Niece use the computer and she used a phone line to access the internet. I just got my old computer back and hooked it up to the Ethernet port but it will not go to the internet. I use that cable to access the internet on my new computer and it works just fine. Am I missing something that I need to do it order to make it work on the old computer?
Old Computer is (WIN 98SE, AMD-K7 Processor, 256 MB RAM, 3COM Etherlink XL TPO 10 Mb Ethernet NIC (3C900B-TPO) card.
I don't need this old computer to access the internet but it would be nice if it did. Thanks for any help
