Need help with Ipod Charger.

Jul 16, 2007 12:52AM PDT

Hey. I want to charge my ipod without using the computer, because it's not convenient for me. however, I don't want to buy a new charger. I was thinking about using an old cellphone charger from a RAZR to charge the ipod. Since the charger has a mini-usb port at the end, it just need to get a coupler like this one: http://www.revealcable.co.uk/acatalog/info%5f1%5fAA2996%2ehtml
however, I don't live in the UK and I don't know where I can get these. Also, will it overcharge. Thanks.

Here I use a powered USB HUB.

No PC required and we have them in the stores for under 10 bucks USD. I have to look at the older USB 1.1 powered hubs for such a price.

I could just use a powered usb hub?

I thought they didn't work because many people said you had to connect them to a computer to supply power. Also, how do you get them to be less than $10? The ones I checked were $20, much more than a regular charger.

Something in a store
Jul 16, 2007 1:44AM PDT

Do you know where I can buy this stuff at a store at the price? Because one check at somewhere like staples or some other place, and the cheapest price is $20. If not, I'll just have to buy it online. Thanks.

I am not in your country.

I am only sharing how I solve this and there is a store that handled such discounted gear but is not a chain and no web site. That would do us no good.

Also we often swap such outdated gear via craigslist or freecycle.com

So if i just buy the hub it'll charge right. Cause some people say that you have to connect to the computer for the hub to supply power. Thanks.

Not to repeat myself.

Are you asking me to repeat my first reply? The problem I see here is that it works for me. You are asking me if it will work for you on your unknown product? Sorry, nothing is that air tight but again it is how I solved this.
