well i think i learned something here,
when you install new equipment (like a new lan connector) you need to unplug your cable modem and let it sit for a few seconds and then plug it back in so it can reconfigure itself. that seems to have been the problem.

hello,
I was wondering if anyone could help me troubleshoot this,
i am using eudora 6.1 (freeware version), and lately I have been having trouble sending e mail out with it. I can do okay with this account with outlook, and with the ISP (comcast) e mail page on their website, so my account is okay, and I can GET my email with eudora no problem, but when I compose new mail and hit send, sometimes it works but most times the blue bar goes to about 90% and stops, and then I eventually get somerror message that it has timed out. ("connection aborted to due to timeout or other failure"). sometimes it doesn't even connect to the server, while ican download new mail at the very same time!
I have retyped the pop and smtp boxes, also retyped password several times, no help. I don't really understand a lot of the settings otherwise. any advice?
