Need help with Comcast.net mailer

Sep 19, 2005 1:32PM PDT

A friend just switched to comcast.net as an ISP and is having Email problems. A look at the header one of her emails showed the following:

X-Mailer: AT&T Message Center Version 1 (Dec 17 2004)
iPlanet-SMTP-Warning: Lines longer than SMTP allows found and truncated.

Does anyone know anything about this X-Mailer that I could dirct her to so she can adjust line length.

She is also having trouble forwarding messages.

She used to use MS Outlook and I am sure she would like to use that on her Comcast hookup.

She is running Windows 2000---I do not know on what make of computer.

Thanks

The instructions are in this link. Follow the instructions fully.

Very Important for Comcast.net

Now select the Advanced tab from the list at the top. In the Server Port Numbers section, make sure that your Outgoing mail (SMTP): port is set to 25. In the Incoming mail (POP3): field, make sure the number is set to 110. ClickOK when you have completed verifying all of the above information.

Hope this helps.

I will send the URL up to her and hope for the best---she is somewhat technically challenged.
