need help with cd/dvd it is not recognized...thanks

Ijust had a new internal DVD/CD writer installed (old one blew up) in a dell dimension3100. I have copied from my itunes and some movies (it came with Nero essentials and I downloaded anydvd) just fine. I just went to copy an old flip video that was on my computer and when I click on copy file, screen comes up I click on dvd/ram and it says no disc in D. When I try again when the copy screen comes up now there is no dvd setting to click. The same with my pictures. It no longer says copy to cd.
I have windows XP.
