When using HDMI inputs Samsung "SHALL NOT PASS" HD AUDIO. It's annoying but true. You may have found a workaround but mixing some HDMI switch is going to be a mess.
If you want 5.1 the right way is to use a RECEIVER. All HDMI sources go there and the video goes on to the TV. For the reverse from TV to Receiver you can test with ARC but use Optical when that fails.
Nothing new going on here. Widely discussed. Not a bug.
I have a Samsung smart tv and a Samsung soundbar and i am using the arc and anynet because they are both Samsung I run my devices through a monoprice hdmi switch with audio out because the optical on the tv will only output in stereo pcm and I want 5.1 Dolby if I can that is why I added the hdmi switch the only problem I am having is that the sound bar keeps switching to the tv arc input instead of staying on hdmi is this problem fixable or is it something I am just gonna have to live with. Thank you for any light you could shed on this for me.
