Need Help Updating Current Home Theatre Audio Setup

Oct 24, 2009 1:47AM PDT

Hi everyone,

I need help updating my some components in my setup. I currently have a 52" Samsung LCD TV, two JBL E60 floor-standing speakers, a JBL E250P subwoofer, a very basic projector, and a Sony receiver.

I'm looking to update the receiver and get surround sound setup. I currently have 5 components in my setup that use HDMI inputs to the receiver, but only 2 spots for it on the receiver. So I need at least 5 HDMI inputs and 1 output (2 would be preferable).

Can anyone recommend a receiver and speakers?

If you

Like to keep your receiver and just need more inputs get a HDMI switch box, much cheaper.

for speakers get some more JBL e60, they are very good speakers, I have the E50's there exactly the same but (big) bookself case instead of tower case. + you always want to keep with the same brand and if you can same model.

for center channel speaker look at the JBL LC1 or the nicer JBL LC2

Will look for JBL

I will look for JBL speakers but will probably go for bookshelf because having floor-standing speakers as surround won't work in the room.

The HDMI switch isn't a bad idea, but I will probably update the receiver anyways because I haven't been happy with it. The sound fluctuates a lot on it for some reason.
