HDMI

If your TV and Laptop have HDMI, use it. It's best quality.

Others are.... DVI, VGA, composites (which I doubt your laptop has. You'd need to buy an adapter so it does).

I heard that plasma TVs burn easily when they're on a static picture for a long time (a picture that doesn't move). I'm not sure if modern plasma TV technologies have fixed that problem. Google search your TV and make sure that it cannot burn.

There are some dozen audio-video port types.

If you need a solution, try sharing the name of that port such as DVI, VGA, HDMI, RCA and so on. If you can't find its name tell the make, model of everything that needs to be connected. If you don't have a make and model then take a picture and place it on photobucket.com for use to see.

And where's the driver that puts the video signal on that USB port? Still somewhere on the net or in the shop, I suppose.
