My old HT system had a basic Trinitron CRT, Bose acoustimass 15 & Onkyo (SR505?) 5.1 receiver. I was pretty happy with it, and at one point I added an iPod dock. Anyway, you could always check out the more recent Onkyo models online, as they have a whole host of newer features to accomodate your Sony HDTV, blue ray players, etc. Onkyo provides a lot of bang for the buck IMHO. You could try something very basic like the TX-SR506-

If you wanted more features like upscaling, I'd suggest something like the TX-SR606-

There are going to be some web only outlet items for a bit less. Onkyo also has an outlet and club you can join for greater savings. I guess it depends whether or not you care about having to take something home w/ you on your trip to WA

Greeting from Southeast Alaska!
I recently purchased a 46" Sony XBR LCD tv. I absolutely love it. 10 years ago we bought this wonderful house that already has the complete Bose system installed in the living room. The guy loved to watch surround sound movies. Well now I have the tv, the speaker system, but no electronics to power it.
I dont have a clue where to go or what to get. I live in Sitka, Alaska which means 15 miles of road and thats about it. Can you steer me in the right direction. I dont want bottom of the line and I cant afford the very best. I think the 5. system would fill my needs the best.
Anyway I'm a novice. I will be going to Seattle this thanksgiving. That means no tax when I buy. Thanks for your imput.
