I'm a college student looking to buy an hdtv for my room primarily for gaming (Steel battalion). I've narrowed it down to three different models but i can't decide becuase the the stats between all three of them are incomplete or offer different features.
The 22in Samsung has a 15,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio (is that really worth anything since they don't list static) and an 8ms response time. It does have a gaming settings.
The 22in LG has an 8,000:1 dynamic contrast and a brightness of 350 cd/ma2. It's lower than the samsung but how can you campare when they give you missing or incomplete inflated stats? It has a 5ms response time which is a plus.
The 26in Toshiba has a lot of good features, but the others have mostly all of the same. It says it does 60hz but doesn't say anything for contrast or brightness. It has an 8ms response time, but has a game mode that that accelerates proccessing. It also has some more advanced features and seems to be a slightly higher end model.
So which do you think i should buy? It's going to be primarily used as a gaming TV, so does 15,000 dynamic contrast mean anything? Or is a 5ms response time a better improvement over 8ms for gaming?
Thanks for any advice! It's trying to be a discerning consumer when companies purposely inflate or don't disclose the "real" specs on thier products!
