If you formatted the drive prior to install, Windows may fail to install. What you want is a blank HDD with no partitions prior to the install.
Hey, My name is chris and I have came across a problem that has stopped my computer from working.
Before I explain what has happened so far to bring me to this point I will list my specifications.
I have a(n)
MSI Z77A G43 Gaming motherboard
I5-3570K Nvidia CPU
ASUS GeForce GTX 680 2gb GPU
500 GB Hard Drive
750w Fatality power supply
Windows 10 (Upgraded from 8.1 pro)
I have been using mixed ram 3x 2GB Ram from an Acer Aspire and a 4GB RipJaws ram.
&
Thermaltake Computer tower(if it's relevant)
My problem started when I was moving my computer from 1 of my parents house to another, prior to this
I was playing video games on my computerand everything was running as should, and nothing seemed out
of the ordinary. It has been working with that set up for years up until now. I set it up after moving
it and when I tried to start up my computer I couldn't access the desktop without it crashing. A blue
screen with white letters came up informing me a driver had been deleted, i'm pretty sure it showed a
file directory showing system32 on it so I was pretty upset.
I tried to system restore it from advanced options in the startup to factory settings. During the system
restore another blue screen came up saying "your pc has encountered an error and needs to restart" It
restarted and I tried to restore it a few more times with the same error coming up.
With the same thing happening I went to go start it up in safe mode. When I started it up this time, my
monitor, mouse and keyboard did not start up with my computer. So at this point I could not access my
computer.
The next thing I did was format my harddrive so i could do a fresh windows install with the cd. When
formatting my hard drive there were 2 recoverey partitions i could not remove or format to make 1
large volume so i just left them and formatted the large partition for the fresh install. After
plugging my hard drive back in and trying to start my computer with the windows cd, the monitor mouse
and keyboard continue not to turn on so im unsure of what to do at this point in order to re install
windows on my computer. I have tested my power supply with my multimeter and it seems fine.
Thank you for the help.
-Chris
