Need help please with Epson CX3200

May 9, 2007 1:31AM PDT

Hi everyone

Sorry, I am not thick, but our all-in-one was working fine till last night. Now an error message we are getting is, something like, need to service this product as some parts need replacing. It won't work at all and I remember reading on a forum some time ago that this can be by passed, is this correct? I don't want to shell out anopther load of money if this can be sorted.

Thanks

It was within the post!!

This is the actual reading, word for word.

On the printer window

Error
Printer error:......see your documentation and call service if necessary.

On the computer screen

Parts inside your printer are at end of their service life. Contact your dealer for replacement.

Try this.
May 9, 2007 1:54AM PDT

"Press and HOLD all following buttons: Power, Load/Eject, Stop, B&W, Color. Continue to hold the buttons until "Init Eeprom" appears on the printer screen. Press Color button to clear protection counter."

Best of luck.

Bob

PS. Next time and every time, use "quotes" so it stands out. Also you used "......" (six periods) which I haven't seen on the error boxes. Are you sure about that?

Hum, sorry to say there's no load/eject on the CX3200 and pressing the rest doesn't work.

Answer to last post 3 dashes and an arrow actually!!

The instructions vary with the model.

So I don't bother to rewrite it for each one. Sorry if that is unacceptable. Be sure to try it for what seems a long time (2 minutes?)

Sorry to hear about your loss.

These units tend to last one a few years so it's only upsetting when it goes south like that.

Yep I know and I really like how this one works. We have only had it a couple of years and the HP one lasted like forever before it gave up the ghost. I even washed that one under the tap to clean all the ink out and it worked first time after drying for 3 yrs more+++
