Need help please

Recd. notification that a cc bill was ready to be viewed, clicked on desktop icon.

AVG notified me that 'found virus/worm c;\documents and settings\local settings\temporary internet files\content.IE5\R8ZVR39V\s_code[2].js.

I have moved to virus vault and I find that each time I click on the desktop icon, I get the same warning.

Have deleted the Content.IE 5 folders but keep getting the same message.

XP-PRO-SP-2 fully patched, AVG version 8.0.

Any help / suggestions will be appreciated.

Tried Deleting In Safe Mode?

In reply to: Need help please

A number of things to do..

While in Safe Mode, use the Control Panel, Internet Options, then delete all the cookies and Temporary Internet Files.. While still in Safe Mode, try deleting the file from the desktop and from the "Virus Vault". When you're done with that, the run a full system scan with AVG while in Safe Mode..

And just for good measure, if you haven't run the Malwarebytes tool, then I also recommend downloading it, updating it, then running a full system scan with it as well.. Some of the javascript files will also be accompanied by various trojans.

Hope this helps.
