NEED HELP PLEASE!

Ok... I have Windows XP for my computer. One day I was done doing my work so I shut down my computer for the night and went to bed. The next morning I got a check (since im a real estate agent)and was going to put the info on excel to record the info as I usually do. One thing happened different. I turned on my computer and there was no start button, or the start bar at the bottom and I need that back. Also it says this program is not responding when I click on a program to open. Can you please help me?

Thanks!

so you have two problems, one each on two different computers ?

1. Sart butoon/"start bar" (do you mean tool bar - do you see the clock a the righ end ?), on one computer, and

2. "Program not responding" on another ?

For No. 1, the "tool bar" may be hidden - solution: with left mouse button pressed, rest you mouse at the bottom where the start bar should be, until the cursor turns into a two headed arrow, then drag up. You may have to try a few times.

For No. 2, Try reinstalling the program. Even a simple reboot may solve the problem. Scan for and remove viruses and other parasites. Run disk cleanup.

CCleaner.exe from download.com

In reply to: NEED HELP PLEASE!

has a startup feature where you can see what processes are being started each time you boot your computer. Each one has a .exe file. Go to Google and type in the name of that .exe file. It'll explain what it is. Sometimes you can spot trojans and spyware somebody put in your startup.

Also, ccleaner will clean out all your internet cache.

You could also go to pcnineoneone.com and in the freeware/security section there's a link to trend micro's free online virus scanner.

or meanwhile Press CTRL+ESC. Or press the Windows key.

or Download and run Taskbar Repair Tool Plus!
