Question

Need help picking new laptop

I currently have an HP Envy dv6-7300 and it is a perfect device but is starting to show its age. I want something very similar to it with newer hardware. Below are some points that matter to me when looking for a laptop like this one.

CPU: i7 is important since I occasionally run VMs, but not required
RAM: 16 GB
HDD: 256 GB M.2 or SSD. No second HDD
Monitor: 15" and 300+ nits for outdoor viewing, don't need 4K or touch
Sound: Would love something as nice as the quad Beats audio speakers I have now though I know this is hard to find
GFX: Want discrete graphics, but only for playing basic games
Weight: Don't care. Actually prefer something with some weight over the thin ultrabooks that have come into favor with a lot of the market lately
Price: $1000 - $1500

Any help finding a good match would be appreciated!

I currently have an Acer Predator.

It's the 17 inch and I use it for hours a day for the past year. Would buy again. I got mine at amazon.

Memory more

important in running VM's than processor. Drive space helps also.
