There are several good choices - most are 12X optical zoom with image stabilization.
I only know of one 6X lens....that is the new Canon A700. It sells in the USA for about $310.
Here is a link of your choices:
All produce excellent photos.
Recently, my Fujifilm Finepix 3800 died. I could have it repaired, but it would probably cost me as much as a new camera. However, it has the following problems:
- The USB port went kaput
- The lens adapter holder is coming off
- Something came out inside and was rattling around in the camera, after that the camera will no longer turn off.
Instead of repairing my problematic camera, I'd like to buy a new one. I was happy with the photos I was getting out of my 3800, so I looked into the S5200 and was appalled by its indoor photo quality. It was like someone put a photoshop grain filter on all the images, and the colours were duller than a lecture on aluminum cans.
I'm looking for a camera that has good image quality, decent zoom (6x+ optical), and manual settings that retails for 400-500 CAD. Your 2 cents (in USD that's like 1.something cents so you might have to get a knife out) is appreciated!
