Need help opening a port

Jun 20, 2007 10:57PM PDT

Hello everyone.
My problem is a simple one that for some reason I cannot fix.
I am attempting to open port 33602. On my McAfee firewall, I have allowed the program that requires the port "Full Access," which supposedly allows for Incoming and Outbound connections. I run the program's built in test and yet I still cannot establish inbound connections. All other firewalls I know of have been disabled. The problem I come to now, is whether or not a router is interfering with my connection. I am currently writing this article from my laptop, which is running on a wireless connection. Could that be the problem I am facing? If so, would just plugging my computer into a wall jack fix this or would I still be running through the wireless router?

Thanks for your help.

Is this P2P?

If so you should check your router for the port but why I ask if it's P2P is that I've found P2P over WIFI to cause far too much work and lost time. Don't do that.

Here's more at this link -> http://portforward.com/

It is P2P

Yes, it is a P2P program. I tried what it said at portforward, but if I create a static IP address then my internet craps out. I will probably need to plug it into the wall to really get it to work.

Yup, that's proper for most owners. Why not just use the noted site and set it up. The router should hand you the same IP over and over and over and over ....
