Need Help on Monster Cables for my New HDTV

Feb 6, 2005 11:37AM PST

I just bought a Toshiba 52hm84, and the people at BB recommended me to get the Monster Cable and it cost $70.00 per one and they told me I need 2 of those. and 2 audio also. Other people told me that I can get Monster cable at Target, Fry Electronics and it cost a lot cheaper, my question is are this Monster cable work the same becasue the price at Target is 1/2 cheaper than the price at BB, CC, or GG. I will have my HD Receiver component, connect with my DVD player and also my Recievers. Please give me suggestion.

Monster cables ???
Feb 7, 2005 10:56AM PST

I just finish installing my HDTV with cox cable and HD service. I am using both a set of monters cables for my dvd and a set of CV cables that I bough in the internet. I think that you will not see the difference if you buy a good cable about 30 or 40 dollars. Don't buy the 11.99 stuff. For DVI if you will use that port, just a good cable will do as digital either works or doesn't. I think paying these high prices for monster stuff is just a waste of money if you will be just enjoying a dvd at home. With the adio cables be a little careful and again, don't buy the very cheap stuff but you don't have to pay monter cable 60 dollars for audio cables. Here is a site for you to look around. http://www.cablewholesale.com/prodpages/audiovideoproducts.htm

just buy decent cables. I agree with the previous post. Monster cables are over rated and over priced. I've had some break and even had one pull the the jack out in my dvd player.

sounds like your dvd player really sucks

as the subject heading says. it sounds like your dvd player really sucks. the cables are supposed to provide as tight as a fit onto the plugs as possible. you can't just jam stuff on & off with reckless abandon. sometimes giving it a slight twist as you push/pull will help. what in the world were you doing taking the cables off anyways? I bet you tried to use the same cables for 2 different devices & started switching them back & forth as needed. lol
