If I use the Disk Management tool in 2K I can partition and format said drive there. Be sure to right click on the volume in question since that's where it is.
I have a machine running windows 2k-- am replacing my d and e disk drives (120 gigs each) with 250 gig drives. Installed one and so far so good, but the settings/ disk management menu has no partitioning wizard. Did i miss that when i named the volume? when i finish the wizard the drive is listed as simple and doesn't show up in windows explorer. the drive's software doesn't run (western digital) advice? how does one install and parition and format a drive in win2k? do i need the win2k disk? fdisk? thanks fj
