need help n suggestions 4 picking a notebook for university

I'm about to enter university to do a degree in accounting and finance. I don't know exactly what kind of computer work this degree requires so I'm not sure how powerful a notebook to get. My budget is around 800USD. I want something that runs Windows. I need it to be quite light and portable because I'll be commuting a lot. Please help me by suggesting good brands and suitable models. Thanks.

According to your budget, you will not play any games with your laptop.

There is the Dell Inspiron E1405. It is light and powerful. You'll get a long battery life with this notebook.
