I'd say try again. HP shows an XP driver for that printer and you will need something compatible. It's almost always best to have the latest printer drivers from the manufacturer. Go to their web site and the main page will have a link to software and drivers. It opens to a box where you can type in the printer name. Type in "deskjet 632c" (without quotes) and it will bring you to the selections for the latest drivers for specific operating systems. Download the driver to a location of your choice. Run the executable file. It might just create a folder with the necessary files to install the driver so take note of the folder name. Now, go to Start/Settings/Printers and select "Add new Printer". XP will attempt to find the printer if it's connected and, if recognized it will search for a driver. If it finds the printer but cannot locate the driver you can navigate to the folder the files extracted to. Otherwise, you can add the printer yourself the same way when you see the "Have Disk" option. From here, XP will have you browse to the folder containing the driver files. It will know the needed file extension and find such a file (usually). you will highlight the file, click to open it and your printer should appear but it might be in a list of similar ones in a series. Select the specific printer and you should be able to install it. If the printer is connected to the PC, you will be asked it you want to print a test page. Select "yes" and, if rollers turn and print heads move, the connection has been made. If the test page prints out ok, you are all set. Good luck.
