If not, google DV6000 MOTHERBOARD and see how many replacement boards are being offered for people willing to take the risk of replacing it themselves.

before this issue my screen was flickering .... the back light was flickering to be more exact...
okay when i try to turn it on i get a black screen. it start to power up and dies. then it starts to power up again and it dies.... It does nto give the inital system check beep. and i can hear the drive start to spin before it dies. Im thinking is a power supply issue, but i really have no idea. Any thoughts? Any help would be great.

okay so your saying its a motherboard issue?
i am working with the thought that once it goes it goes, but it is happening sporadically. and when my computer is working the screen is working just fine ...no flickering....
Any thoughts? Again thanks for your help...
That's typical as it begins to fail and give it time and it gets worse.
It's a well known issue with this model and I've lost count how many want it to be anything else.

All HP Pavilion's with NVIDIA chipset
Faulty components / no customer support
Warning! There are major problems with the complete line of HP Pavilion with NVIDIA chipset's. (Excessive Heat issue)
HP knows about the problem (check out the forum on HP?s web site) but they continue to sell these pieces of junk without support.
If you have one of the HP Pavilion DO NOT install the patch NVIDIA recommends, this patch only forces the cooling fan to run continuously which delays the eventual failure of the video portion causing the laptop to become useless past warranty.

Basic response from HP when notified of the failure past warranty, enjoy your brick and thanks for the money, sorry can?t help you without a large expense on your part.
You have been warned
My advice if your HP laptop is still under warranty, REPLACE IT WITH ANOTHER BRAND, FasT!!!
